The 22 Panels That Always Work, made originally by the great Wally Wood, it is very handy to have this around when drawing comics.
Big head, extreme close-up, back of the head, profile, contrasted panel, and big object.
'Ben Day' is known today as 'half tone'.
"White Ben Day BG" means a mostly white Background made with Ben Day Dots, with a dark silhouette in the foreground.
'Diagr.' refers to Diagramatic. it means drawing the characters as flat as possible.
Best used sparingly, it provides a little variety and can be used to emphasize the body language and spatial relationships between two characters.
Panel 1 "Big Head":
goal is to convey the emotion of the portrayed character
he is angry, happy, or sad
no background (either white or black)
Panel 2 "Extreme close-up":
Used as a reaction, this panel brings 'drama' to the reader
To express surprise, shock
Panel 3 "Back of Head / Part of head":
It is like a POV shot, used when 2 people talks
Panel 4 "Profile / No Background":
Two characters conversing face to face
Panel 5 "White Ben Day / Dark Foreground":
Figure in shadow in the foreground, figure in white in the middle, and Ben Day in the background
Panel 6 "Big Object, open panel":
it could be used to draw a car, bus, tank, plane etc ...
used in smaller frame
